This service is aimed at 11-19 year olds. Our work is community based so we are able to meet young people at school, college or their local library.
Mentoring involves creating goals with the young person and supporting them to achieve their possible best. This generally involves devising a program to follow and track progress towards agreed goals.
The Coach/Mentor is not there to tell an individual what to do, it is not their life. The Mentor/Coach encourages the individual to look at all the choices they have in front of them and empowers them to make the right choice for themselves. This encourages and develops self esteem and empowerment for the individual.
Mentoring/coaching can be used to support most issues a young person may have to deal with, from confidence building, family issues, anger management, education and gaining employment.
